AUTHORS AND CONTRIBUTORS TALK REHASH
The Show & Tell event, centered around the launch of the LIGNES DE FUITE Vol.3 Annual, took place on October 21 at WIP. The guests had the opportunity to view the publication and experience a discursive fashion presentation titled Social Jet Lag by HELIS. This newly formed design duo is composed of a former laureate of the LIGNES DE FUITE Fashion Design Student Award, Elisabeth Atchadé, and a third-year fashion design student at École supérieure de mode, Clarisse Bessard.
The main part of the Show & Tell event, a talk hosted by Patricia Chaykin in the form of Q & A, began at 7:30 PM and featured a diverse range of guest speakers who discussed challenges and motivations behind the LIGNES DE FUITE Vol. 3 initiative. The speakers were members of the LIGNES DE FUITE Vol. 3 editorial team, Editor-In-Chief Milan Tanedjikov, Art Director Raphaël Viens, Fashion Editor Tishanna Carnevale, Editors Giovanni Caci, Alexia Georgieva and Roxanne Ouellet-Bernier as well as Founder of FACES MGMT and photographer at Les Studios Vision, Saad Al-Hakkan, who elevated the young, local talents featured in the book, provided the studio space and the models, and helped to organize The Garden of Earthly Delights main editorial. In addition, the audience had the chance to get a glimpse of the process behind the realization of this year's publication through the lens of the multidisciplinary artist, writer, and performer Koko, photographer Vladim Vilain, a recent graduate from LaSalle College, and LIGNES DE FUITE protégé, Joshua Boudreau, final year fashion students at École supérieure de mode, Clarisse Bessard and Elisabeth Atchadé, Contemporary Artist, and Curator Samuel Arsenault-Brassard, third year fashion design student Danielle Medland at LaSalle College, BA honours menswear student at Central Saint Martins Morggan O'Brien Jussaume and Charlotte Deneux. She is completing her master’s fashion design degree at École Duperré Paris.
Following the authors and contributors' talk, at 8:30 pm, the audience was able to view a fashion film, 3D META LOVE, created by Nima Mardaneh, Creative Director at Buried Deep, Contemporary Artist, and Curator Samuel Arsenault-Brassard, LIGNES DE FUITE founder Milan Tanedjikov and Contemporary Sound Artist, Dębbīe Doė.
Before and after the presentation, it was possible to interact with the roundtable participants and explore the LIGNES DE FUITE supply pop-up shop featuring products created by young Canadian designers while enjoying a live set by DJ Neo Edo who describes themselves as the "interdimensional being serving as a “window” or an intermediary to the universe of Neo Edo".
LIGNES DE FUITE supply pop-up shop featured products created by the following young Canadian designers, Rachel Sudburry, Process Visual by Jessy Colluci, ALBÉRIC by Marie-Eve Aubry, Ulysse Poulin, Denora by Joshua Boudreau and Olivia Rubens. In addition, Giovanni Caci, Tea Murry, Chiara Cristiano, Lily Kovac, Cristhina Castro, Della Maria, Olivier Vouligny and Willam Crossom sold products developed through the LIGNES DE FUITE short course ''How to Capitalize on your Designs.”
Last but not least, the audience could give any clothing item screen printed by Elisabeth Atchadé and Clarisse Bessard with the support of Danny Gauthier, Director of Centre de Design et Impression Textile.
