Description

The Creative Research for Fashion Design workshop is a hands-on, immersive experience designed for beginners who want to explore innovative ways of developing fashion concepts. Over one full day ( Saturday from 10 am to 6pm ), participants will be guided through a unique process that blends creativity, research, and conceptual thinking to build a fashion collection. Using research techniques, participants will create a small, 2-look collection grounded in personal creative research, ready to be included in their portfolios. The workshop will be led by Milan Tanedjikov, a seasoned professional with expertise in creative and conceptual fashion design, known for his innovative approach to design thinking. The workshop will be offered every 3rd Saturday, starting as soon as at least 4 participants have registered. Once this minimum is reached, the course will be confirmed, and participants will be notified with all necessary details, including the schedule, location, and materials required for the workshop. If fewer than 4 participants register, the workshop will be canceled, and all deposits will be refunded. Learning Benefits: Creative Research Techniques: Learn how to gather inspiration through automatic writing, word mapping, and object-based research to break through creative blocks and connect abstract ideas to concrete concepts. Building a Visual Vocabulary: Develop visual communication skills through mark-making and collaging, creating a personal language to translate research into design concepts. Conceptualizing Fashion Ideas: Transform research into tangible fashion concepts with mood boards, photomontages, and structured design processes. Creating Fashion Illustrations: Learn how to refine your ideas into professional fashion illustrations, perfect for building your portfolio. Participants will leave with: Sketchbook research that documents their creative process, combining inspiration, mark-making, and concept development. A research-driven mood board integrating photography, materials, and mark-making. A collaged fashion figure, showcasing how their research informs silhouettes and styling. These outcomes will serve as valuable additions to a beginner's portfolio, demonstrating both creativity and the ability to execute a design process from start to finish. Participants will also receive a certificate of completion, recognizing their effort and achievement in the workshop.
