Course Overview: This 14-week project-based course is tailored for intermediate and advanced fashion design students eager to master styling and art direction. Combining the fundamentals of fashion curation with hands-on production, it offers a comprehensive learning experience that culminates in a discursive fashion editorial. Instructors: Milan Tanedjikov: Founder of LIGNES DE FUITE, Milan leads the course with his extensive expertise in fashion curation and art direction. Guest Tutors: - Jay Laforest: Renowned stylist, Jay will provide specialized sessions on styling. - George Fok: Acclaimed photographer, George will guide students through the intricacies of fashion photography and video production. Course Structure: Weeks 1-7: Fundamentals of Fashion Curation and Concept Development - Introduction to the fundamentals of fashion curation and art direction. - Exploration of various approaches to developing fashion concepts. - Creation of mood boards and style guides to refine conceptual ideas. - Collaborative workshops with Jay Laforest on styling techniques and George Fok on visual storytelling. Weeks 8-14: Production of the Fashion Editorial - Building on the first half’s knowledge, students create a personal fashion editorial project. - Hands-on production of the photoshoot, incorporating both still images and video clips. - Extensive research, design development, and practical application, culminating in a finished editorial. - Final editorials and research showcased at the LIGNES DE FUITE Design Research exhibit event in September. Certification: Participants receive a certificate of completion, provided they attend a minimum of 80% of the classes.
